Grand Match 2010
The cold spell may not be welcomed by all but for curlers it's a rare chance for the Grand Match to take place.
The RCCC are currently reviewing the conditions of a number of lochs.
The Piper Dam and Loch Leven are currently out due to a covering of frozen snow. However the Lake of Menteith is perhaps more promising.
If the cold spell holds and there's not too much snow, it's hoped that the Grand Match will be given the go ahead early next week ( Monday 11th or soon after).
There will be 500 teams playing in the game between the North and South of Scotland match. The last time the match was played was in 1979.
