Grand Match Update

The Grand Match is off - Will it ever happen again?

The RCCC has had to call off any hope of holding the Grand Match at the moment due to health and safety concerns.

The conditions are good - the ice is thick enough, the cold spell is continuing and there's not likely to be much snowfall. However concerns raised by the police, fire and ambulance services could not be addressed in the short timescale involved.

Suitable conditions come along so infrequently and offer little notice. Hopefully attempts will be made to address all the emergency services' concerns and have a plan in place when the next opportunity comes along.
