Ruby Smith Memorial Quaich
Two rinks from Peebles Ladies and Eddleston Curling Clubs recently met at Murrayfield Ice Rink in the annual match to commemorate their late, dear friend and colleague, Ruby Smith.
In a keenly contested match for the Ruby Smith Memorial Quaich the result ebbed and flowed for a time before Eddleston eventually emerged as the narrow winners. After the match, players convened to the bar to raise a toast and the Quaich was presented to Eddleston Life President Jock Grierson. Jock thanked everyone for supporting the event and to the Smith family for the donation of the Quaich, in his closing remarks he invited Peebles Ladies to return next year for another match.
